Today I installed EventBox on my MacBook and it was not very “great”. Best thing abt EventBox that it let you updated about facebook, digg, Twitter, Flickr & Feeds etc and I hope they will add more soon. On the bad side, it wont let you response from EventBox to facebook!
One should give it a try on his/her Mac machine 
Its really worth it.
